Public Art

Although all art is created with the public in mind, creating a civic art piece is a completely different process that has its own benefits and challenges. The story of the piece is not mine alone, rather it belongs to the commissioner and to the public. Through the engagement process, the piece takes on a larger meaning and function. The interplay of large sculptural elements - the positive and negative spaces - in a public place changes the impact of the piece, creating an ever-evolving dialogue.
